Guides hold successful event

Girlguiding Banchory held a very successful coffee morning earlier this month with many people enjoying the tasty Homebakes and being warmed by the hot drinks.

There was also a variety of stalls including a very popular chocolate tombola and the adopt-a-teddy stall ran out of homeless toys long before the end of the sale.

The Christmas tree competition proved to be a challenge for Girlguiding Banchory’s Ambassadors, Mr Karl Revel and Mrs Norma Makin as they pronounced the entries to be they best they had seen in the many years the competition has been running. This year’s theme was Christmas Carols/Songs and the winning tree was “12 Days of Christmas” from the 4th Banchory Guide Unit. This tree will be on display in Tesco Banchory, over the festive period. Second was 5th Banchory Brownies with “While Shepherds Watched their Flocks”. There was also a visit from Santa whose presence delighted the youngsters.
