New artworks project set for weekend openiing

A new artworks project is launching this weekend in Aboyne.

‘Scene on the Green’ aims to be an educational, artistic and inspirational venue where members of the community can come and learn artistic skills through workshops. A large selection of workshops will be run throughout the year from life and still life drawing, art and craft, drama, music, sculpture, poetry and many more. Workshops will be available for both adults and children. It will be a place where artwork can be displayed and there will be a gallery area with artwork for sale.

Members of the community can interact and get to know one another, develop and deliver ideas for projects or workshops that they feel would be of benefit to the community. ‘Scene on the Green’ will attempt to link with other community groups in order to liaise with other calendar events and to become an integral part of village life.

The launch afternoon, which takes place at Unit 1 Business Centre, Aboyne between 1pm-4pm will see carol singers, children’s singing group, art and craft demonstrations, as well as tea and coffee.
