SIR

I am a young person who lives in Braemar and I am appalled by the decision which has been made to let a massive bomb sit in the middle of Braemar ( Deeside Piper, June 20).
I, like many other people in Braemar, have no problem with charity boxes and particularly for the cause at hand, the RAF Benevolent Fund. I think collection boxes are a great thing!

The problem is with the style. A dove of peace or something like that would be a lot more appropriate.

That doesn't mean we don't appreciate and very much respect the people who have died for their country.

Both my Grandads fought for their country. But we young people are looking to the future and not the past.

We want to see a future of peace not war.

The people who made this decision surely did not consider the majority of village people. I don't just mean the adults. I mean kids as well.

As the adults will die and us children will have to live with the bomb around the village for a long time.

I would ask Mr Brown to reconsider, please don't put a bomb in the middle of the village.

Yours etc
