Sir

I was somewhat shocked to read your headline item in the Piper ( March 13) regarding plans to demolish Bellfield Care Home and replace it with a block of flats.

I wholeheartedly agree with your headline "Demolition plan is a disgrace".

The plan is incredibly insensitive to the character of Banchory town centre and I find it hard to believe that a developer could consider such a thing.

Since reading your article, I have been made aware of the mechanism in place to object to, or support, applications for planning and have formally recorded my views. I think the vast majority of folk in Banchory will object to the plans, but are probably not aware of the means of recording their views.

To record a comment simply log on to www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk select Quick lInk Planning on the right hand side.

Enter address "Dee Street Banchory". This will open up the planning application and give the chance to enter a comment.
I do hope people will take advantage of the opportunity.

Yours etc

Mike Scott
