Sir

There was an excellent turnout at the recent public meeting held in the Learney Hall to listen to and ask questions of the planning officials of Aberdeenshire Council.
The hall was full to capacity with standing room only and this indicates the strength of feeling of the residents towards protection of the village. It was clearly indicated that the residents do not wish to see any detrimental expansion of the village and certainly none which would stretch the infrastructure.

In addition, a representative of the 'Save Torphins' action group presented a power point display explaining the results of a recent survey of residents which they had carried out. The results of their survey also indicated a strong feeling towards protection of the village.

I would like to thank Aberdeenshire Council for organising the meeting, the Save Torphins group for their efforts, and all residents who attended.

Yours etc
Denis Christie
Chairman
Torphins Community Council
