Sir

My main issue regarding Tesco in Banchory is with the impact that traffic will have on the current infrastructure that will not be upgraded as part of the proposal.

I hope the fact that the transportation manager took just three working days to look through and respond to the plans is a good sign - although I am sure I will be disappointed.

I have also asked for the proposal to be rejected due to the size and location of the building as well as the fact that despite being advertised as an eco-store it increasingly looks to be the opposite.

The choice of a greenfield site, local produce being delivered via Livingston and an oversized store to heat and light being the pointers towards this.

I continue to hope that the people we have elected to represent the community in matters like these will take heed from what comments have been made and press Tesco hard on the finer details of their proposal to make sure it is not purely an application of smoke and mirrors to deceive all around so they can get what they want.

Yours etc
Alan MacLeod
