SIR

AS chairperson founder of Tarland First Responders, I wish to thank and acknowledge all the help, financially and otherwise, we have had from the MacRobert Trust; the Small Awards Lottery Fund; the British Heart Foundation; the Masonic Movement; the Round Tablers, Aboyne; various oil companies; the general public who are still giving through our collection box in the post office; David and his walking team and last, but not least, the committee and Responders for all their time and help.
We are completely self-funding - the training for the first people cost £3,000.

We pay for uniform, training, all training equipment, phones, Sat Navs, oxygen we use on call-outs and venues for training.

Each new recruit has to be trained as they join, so we have ongoing expenditure.

The Commercial Hotel kindly gave us a room in which to hold our committee meetings, which has been a great help.
It has been a very satisfying project. We have had a few successful call-outs but our ambition is to cover every night. To do this we still need more recruits.

Anyone from Dee or Don who is interested can contact Ian Payne on 07825 778810, or Sheila Wallace on (013398) 81580.
Yours etc.,
Sheila Wallace,
Duncan Road,
Tarland.
