‘Alford spring clean’ to get underway

Community spirit is shining in Donside as Alford looks forward to it’s annual spring cleaning with residents urged to make the town sparkle.

Young and old, are invited to take part in the National Spring Clean campaign organised by Keep Scotland Beautiful.

The cleaning will take place next week from Monday 27 – Friday 31 May.

During the day pupils from Alford Primary and Academy will be going out, suitably equipped with litter grabbers and high visibility tabards, to pick up litter. Members of the public are warmly invited to join the children during the school day.

In addition a community litter pick will be held on the evening of Wednesday 29 May. Members of the community are asked to meet at Howe Trinity Church, 110 Main Street, Alford, to pick up litter grabbers from 6.30pm onwards, and to return to the hall by 8pm, where a well earned cup of tea or coffee will be waiting for them.
