Castle calls for green fingered volunteers

The National Trust for Scotland is appealing for volunteers to work in its spectacular walled gardens of Crathes Castle, Garden and Estate.

If you’re looking to spend time in the outdoors and learn some new skills as well as supporting the work of the gardens – then Crathes offers a variety of opportunities for those wishing to try volunteering.

You could be involved in planting, pruning and the general maintenance as well as learning what’s unique to a heritage garden. During the summer months you may also be approached by visitors looking for general gardening tips or asking about the garden – so it’s also a great way to share your enthusiasm for gardening (and pick up some ideas of your own).

Specific garden guide roles are also available, which can bring to life the stories of the garden at Crathes.

Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Head Gardener Chris Wardle on 01330 844525 or email cwardle@nts.org.uk.
