Enchanted castle to draw thousands say organisers

Over 8000 people are expected to descend on Banchory for the upcoming “Enchanted Castle” event.

With just two weeks to go, the 2012 Enchanted Castle is shaping up to be the most popular yet.

People are being urged to snap up tickets for the event which takes place from 21 – 25 November, as the Saturday night has now sold out.

Sponsored by Petrofac and organised by GM Events, the second annual event, titled Fantasia, will include a brand new light and sound show featuring choreographed effects, moods and backdrops to make for what the organisers hope will be a thrilling show.

For the first time ever, the Enchanted Castle will feature a new and exciting woodland garden trail, a mesmerising magic zone and an adults only evening on Wednesday, November 21.

In addition to this, fire and illumination entertainers will perform a show-stopping display when they juggle, breathe and dance with fire.

Gerry Muldoon of GM Events said: “The event represents a significant boost to the income of businesses in the area – from local shops and restaurants, to hotels - at a time when many businesses across the UK are tightening their belts.”

“There is a lot of hard work and planning goes in to a show of this scale and it’s rewarding that demand continues to increase year on year.”

There will a great range of locally sourced winter warming local produce available from the NTS cafe menu as well as seasonal al-fresco catering in the courtyard.

Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance only from Aberdeen Box Office, Union Street, Aberdeen. Tel 01224 641122 or www.boxofficeaberdeen.com or www.nts.org.uk/Events
