Baroque concert to be held at Finzean venue

editorial image

Strathdee Music is hosting a concert by Passacaglia on Sunday, February 24 at 3pm in Birse and Feughside Parish Church, Finzean.

This is a group of well known musicians who play period instruments including, harpsichord, viola da gamba, baroque flute and recorders.

The intimate setting of the Birse and Feughside church should suit this music ideally and it promises to be an exciting and unusual concert.

The programme includes Telemann’s Paris Quartet no 6 in E minor, J.S. Bach’s Italian Concerto BWV 971, and J.A.Rameau’s Cinquieme Concert.

Tickets are available at the Deeside Community Centre, Aboyne and at the door on the afternoon of the concert. £12 (£10 members) and under 18s free.

Refreshments will be served in the interval and are included. Everyone will be made very welcome.

Strathdee Music has arranged seven concerts this season, this being the fifth one.

On March 16 at 7.30pm, The Maxwell String Quartet will play in the Deeside Community Theatre and on April 27 an acclaimed young pianist, Arta Arnicane will give a recital, also at the Deeside Community Theatre at 7.30pm.
