Dames steal the show at Aberdeen’s Snow White

It’s panto season again and His Majesty’s Theatre’s Snow White had already broken a record before opening night.

This year’s panto has proved a red-hot ticket at the Box Office as ticket sales soared past the £1 million mark before the curtain had even been raised.

It makes the show the first to reach the million pound milestone before the first performance.

The sell-out crowd were treated to a very local spin on the traditional tale of Snow White and The Seven Dwarves.

Scottish comedy heavyweights Elaine C Smith and Alan McHugh once again took up the starring roles, this time as the Wicked Queen and her not so glamorous sister “sweaty” Betty.

The local theme ran through the performance with characters such as First Minister Alex Mackerel and Prince Peter of Culter (his mother’s name is Mary).

However the show was stolen by McHugh’s portrayal of the ugly sister and Jordan Young’s take on her dim-witted son Bobby.

There were plenty of laughs in the show for young and old in what was a great night out for the whole family.
