From Monymusk to Adelboden

Donsider Kira Cooper, from Monymusk Guides, has been selected as one of 12 guides to represent Girlguiding Scotland in Adelboden, Switzerland, this summer.

The 14-year-old member of 1st Inverurie Section, and Young Leader with 1st Monymusk Guides, will travel to Switzerland to learn more about the Swiss way of life and meet other international Guides at ‘Our Chalet’, the first world centre of WAGGGS, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, built in 1932 in Adelboden.

In her quest to raise the £800 required for the trip, Kira has arranged a ‘Scottish Variety Show’ in Millbank Hall at 7pm on March 7.

Performers will include the Cluny Church Choir, Young Garioch Fiddlers, and Emma Gibb, violin teacher and member of the Ceilidh band ‘The Ceilidh Peppers’, among others. Tickets include ‘tea and a piece’ and are priced £7, on sale in advance from Kira on 01330 833410.
