A Deeside Opticians celebrated five years of serving the community by holding an Eye Spy Family Fun Day last Saturday (September 21).
Hughes, Macdonald and Davidson Ophthalmic Opticians in Banchory hosted the day of fun and frolics at the High Street store from 9am to 12 noon and aimed to highlight the importance of having a regular eye test for all ages.
John Hughes, company director said: “It’s been a great pleasure to serve the people of Banchory for the last five years. I would like to thank them for their continued loyalty and hope we can count on them for their support in the future.”

Many activities such as face painting as well as a Sports vision reaction test, also on offer was a food corner for all to enjoy were included.
The day coincided with National Eye Health Week, which ran from September 16 -22. The aim was to raise awareness of the importance of good eye health and the need for a regular sight test for all.
Francesca Marchetti, Chair of the National Eye Health Week Steering Group, said: “Sight is the sense people fear losing the most, yet many of us don’t know the best way to look after our eyes.”
“This is why it is so important you get your eye health tested every two years even if you think your vision is fine as some eye conditions may not show symptoms.”
