Every year since 2006 Donside Ringcraft Club have organised a Companion Dog Show at Bennachie Leisure Centre, Insch in order to raise money for specific selected charities.
This year the show takes place on Sunday, April 29 and the chosen charity is the new Drumoak SSPCA Centre.
The club says it has always had wonderful support from the dog owning public - both pedigree and pet owners - for this event and hope once again to raise a substantial sum for this charity.
A spokesperson said that the cost of hiring the facilities at Bennachie Leisure Centre has risen “very considerably” which will reflect on the sum which can then be passed on this year, after expenses, and so they hope that the public will “rise to the occasion and give us a bumper turnout on the day”.
A large selection of classes is offered and both pedigree and non pedigree dogs are catered for. Ten pedigree classes cover all breeds of dog and include puppies from six months old up to your golden oldie veteran of over seven years.
Five novelty classes include Junior Handling so the youngsters won’t feel left out and there are classes for crossbreeds, or as some people nowadays like to term them, “designer dogs”. There are also classes for the most handsome dog, the prettiest bitch and the dog the judge would most like to take home.
All in all, no matter what breed or age your dog is, as long as it is over six months old it will find at least one class to enter.
Entries for the show are taken from 10 am and judging starts at 11 am.
Donside Ringcraft Club who are organising the show meets each Monday evening at Craigievar Hall.
The club caters not only for dogs which are to be shown, but offers socialisation and obedience training also.
The atmosphere at club meetings is friendly and relaxed and owners will meet others with similar interests.
