Once again some of Deeside’s finest young musicians are getting in tune with hopes of winning a top national competition.

Banchory-Ternan Rotary Club, in conjunction with Banchory Academy, are presenting, once again, their Young Musician of the Year competition.

This year the event will be held at Banchory Christian Fellowship’s main auditorium next Thursday, January 29.

Doors open at 7pm and the concert commences at 7.30pm.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served during the interval.

A Rotary spokesperson said: “A wonderful evening’s entertainment of vocal talent is guaranteed and instrumental music will showcase the high standard of local youngsters.

“It is one of the highlights of our year.

“The church is really a tremendous venue.”

The competition is well supported in Banchory with an audience of around 250 packing the auditorium last year.

This is a local heat in the UK wide Rotary International UK Young Musician of the Year competition.

The local heat will be followed by the regional heat and the events will culminate in the national competition, sponsored by Harrods.
