AN ALFORD fourth year student at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen is planning to start her own fashion business after being inspired by toys
Helen Greensmith (22) will graduate in July with a BA (Hons) in Textile and Surface Design.

She was particularly intrigued by the spinning motion of toys when she visited a museum and incorporated this into a number of skirts she designed so that when the wearer turns there is a sense of movement in the fabric of the skirt.

Helen's work also reflects her views on ethical issues concerned with mass production.

Her outfits and fashion accessories are one-off pieces produced from recycled material.

Helen is planning to start her own business and with assistance from the NESTA "Starter for Six" business course aims to launch her own designer label.
