Forget-Me-Not charity which supports people with dementia and their carers were delighted to received a cheque from Peter Ferguson of PDF Productions for an amazing £12,550 - proceeds from dance night, Strictly Come Prancing.

Peter organised and ran the event which was a total sell out weeks before the night. Ten local couples danced in front of a team of judges, they also had a “text for me” count.

The winning couple were Emma Humble and Corrina Cox. The winner of the most sponsorship was Gena Paterson, who raised over £2,200.

Next year’s Strictly Come Prancing is booked for April so anyone who wants to take part or book a table to attend, is advised to do so soon.

Fund raising for the Forgwet-Me-Not is moving up a gear to help with the upgrading of the house they have recently bought to convert to a Resource Centre. The estimated cost is £200,000 and events like Strictly and Open Garden at Finzean House on June 24 can provide a real boost to funds.

Volunteer Phil Bird is having Open Garden at Allenshiel, Watson Street, Banchory on Saturday, May 26, Satuday,June 30 and Sunday, July 29 – all events are 10 – 4pm when tea, coffee, homebakes and quality plants will be on sale.
