The recent Logie Coldstone School spring fair raised £750 for school funds, despite the torrential rain on the day.

The Fair, organised by the Parent Council, featured a dog show with rosettes awarded for the waggiest tail and the naughtiest puppy, to name but two.

Inside the school, parents and pupils served tea and homebakes and held a variety of stalls.

Logie Coldstone Parent and Toddler Group, which meets at the school on a Monday morning, organised the toy stall and cup cake decorating.

A spokesperson said in a statemnt: “A huge ‘thank you’ goes to all those who supported the Fair, including the local community, school staff, and the Logie Coldstone Trust, and to all those who supplied many generous raffle prizes and homebaking. Dennis Robertson MSP and his guide dog Mr Q even visited for afternoon tea. The money raised will fund activities including an end of session trip. And what a session it has been! The school was delighted to appoint Mrs Sandra Brown as the new Head Teacher and now also has a permanent second teacher, Mrs Jill Griffin (currently teaching the senior class), thanks to the steadily increasing pupil roll, soon to reach 22.”
