AIYF shows coming to Woodend Barn

This year’s 40th Anniversary of Aberdeen International Youth Festival launches on August 1. Woodend Barn in Banchory will host a variety of dance and musical performances between the 2-8 of August including the Japanese Tskuba West Symphonia Orchestra, An Evening of African Music and Dance and The University of the Philippines Concert Chorus.

The Barn will begin its run of shows with the Tsukuba West Symphonia Orchestra, an entertaining and dedicated Japanese youth string orchestra. Shows take place on Wednesday August 1 and Thursday, August 2 at 7.30pm.

Next up is an evening of dance from the award winning dance troupes: Shawbrook Dance Company from Ireland and Westlake School of Performing Arts from the USA. The show takes place on Monday, 6 August at 7.30pm

The University of the Philippines Concert Choir is one of the top 10 university choirs in the world and will perform on Tuesday, 7 August at 7.30pm.

An Evening of African Music and Dance takes place on Wednesday, August 8 at 7.30pm. The event will showcase powerful performances of traditional African dance.
