A pioneering new dental practice in Cults has been officially opened by Dame Anne Begg.
Dental Inspirations is offering a range of treatments to residents across the region, including a new orthodontic procedure to straighten teeth.
As well as offering routine dentistry, the North Deeside Road practice will educate children on how to take preventative measures to protect their teeth through a series of events.
Preventable dental diseases such as obesity and tooth decay among children are reaching epidemic levels in the UK. Children as young as six are being treated in hospitals with increasing numbers of extractions being carried out.
Principal dentist Chris Pumford said: “Since moving to Cults we have already become involved in the local community, promoting preventative dentistry through a variety of children’s oral health education days at various nurseries and family events.
“Both the dentist and a children’s oral health educator attended and presented to the children which was made fun, interactive with prizes, and competitions.
“Our practice ethos is all about preventative dentistry, listening to our patients needs and helping them achieve the results they want.”
The facility is the first in Aberdeenshire to offer the ‘six month smiles’ system, which involves straightening front teeth with clear brackets in six months instead of the two years allocated for conventional braces.
