The pupils in the P4/5 class at Tarland Primary have been finding out about life during WW1 through their own theatre production.
The children edited the script of Archie’s War, chose the costumes and rehearsed the play to a high standard.
They also invited Rhiann Matthew to play an instrumental piece on her fiddle. This proved to be a very poignant addition. Their teachers, Mrs Collins and Mrs Glass were very proud of all of the children’s efforts.
To accompany the play, the children wrote poems and stories to demonstrate their understanding of how life might have been like in WW1, and designed a booklet of poems to be sold for £2. All proceeds are to be donated to the Poppy Fund. The final production took place on Friday October 10.
The children were delighted to welcome visitors from Alastrean House and Cllr Blackett to the show.
