Dunecht School recently had a visit from Graham Buchan, chef and owner of the Cow Shed in Banchory.
The visit was arranged through the Chefs Adopt a School scheme, a charity which was first started to teach children the basics of food and cookery that could be delivered without the need for cooking facilities.
This first session was a taste and sensory session when the children had to use their senses of touch and taste to guess what food they had in front of them.
They were initially blindfolded and given various food to taste. Then the blindfolds came off and they could see what they had been tasting.
The next session will be a visit to chef Buchan’s restaurant.
