The nursery class at Banchory Primary School had great fun experiencing an outing on the local bus, which goes a circular route.
The bus trip was a great success and a real highlight for the children, many of whom had not been on a bus before, and the bus drivers were great.
The nursery proposes to use the service again on April 16 and 17, for a visit to the garden centre.
This idea was the suggestion of Banchory Energy Reduction Initiative (BERI), a local community organisation funded by the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund until March 31, and run by volunteers and part-time staff.
Nursery teacher Rosemary McKenzie said: “We were happy to work alongside BERI and promote the 205 bus service. Many of our nursery children had never experienced travelling by bus before and thoroughly enjoyed the journey from nursery to Tesco. “For us as a nursery, the 205 service makes all parts of Banchory accessible and is a great service.”
BERI’s last energy advice drop-in session is from 10.30am to 12.30pm tomorrow (Friday) at Banchory Town Hall.
