A company of over 70 Rotarians, partners and guests enjoyed a first class party in the Burnett Arms last Wednesday.

Following a splendid Christmas Dinner, entertainment was provided by two Banchory Academy pupils, singer Melissa Drysdale and violinist Evie Blenham accompanied by Principal Teacher of Music at the Academy, Mr Andy Bruce.

MC Rotarian Bill Burr, Rotary Club of Banchory Ternan’s entertainments convener, then introduced a well-known figure at Christmas, Santa Claus.

Santa flitted from table to table inviting all the lady guests to delve into his Christmas sack and choose a gift.

He also took the chance, as always, of getting a cuddle or two, or three, from some of his lady fans, before disappearing into the dark and rainy night.

It was then the turn of the company to join in the communal singing of Carols and Christmas songs, which they did with great gusto, accompanied by Hon. Rotarian Mrs Margaret Smith.

President-Elect Reg. Wilkins then gave the vote of thanks to all who had helped to provide such an enjoyable evening.
