Banchory Singers ‘superb’

A fantastic night was had by all at the annual Banchory Singers Christmas Concert, writes Sharon Kirk.

Singers and musician were superb and the music director Tara Leiper with accompanist Shona Elliott guided Banchory Singers through both traditional and innovative festive songs. From the bright energy of “Joy to the World” to the veneration of “Mary did you know?” the Singers were truly on top form, expressive and sensitive when required and at other times agile and articulate.

The soloists were all terrific and gave an indication of what talents are hidden within the choir’s ranks. Add to all this the opportunity for the audience to sing along with the choir, it was impossible not to leave at the end in a festive mood. “You always leave a Banchory Singers Concert feeling uplifted” was just one of the many complimentary comments made by the audience.

There is another opportunity to see the singers in action at 11am on Saturday, December 15 at Banchory Farmers Market.
