Banchory Business Association held their first traders ball last weekend at the town’s Tor-Na-Coille Hotel.

Over 70 guests attended the inaugural event for the association, and it was hailed as a huge success.

The opening speech was made by Mr DIck Taylor, of Taylors of Banchory, who gave guests an insight into the BBA, and also talked about plans for the future of Banchory Town centre as well as welcoming members old and new.

Later, there was a toast to Dick and Theresa Taylor, who also celebrated 30 years in business on Saturday, with Taylors of Banchory Home Furnishers. Dick also thanked Jan Leatham and those who had helped organise the event.

Local business people and their guests enjoyed arrival drinks to the sounds of the piper, a beautiful three course dinner, followed by dancing to top band, Slinky.

There was a traders raffle with local businesses donating a special prize, and proceeds from this will be going to the upkeep of the Christmas lights for the town centre.

The association would like to thank hotel manager Mr Philip Fleming and his team for such wonderful service and hospitality at the event and all local companies who donated prizes.

Some of the local companies who attended were: Athlol Countrywear, Brian Smith Funeral Directors, Riah Hair & Beauty, Yeadons Books, Continental Cream, Thistle & Rose, The Grant Considine Company, Tease Coffee shop, Bruce McCombie Builders, PDF Productions, Bentleys of Banchory, Aberdein Considine & Co and Deeside Photographics.

The committee hope to now have this as an annual event and would welcome any new members who may be considering joining.
