As part of their Friendship Challenge badge, the 1st Banchory Beaver Scouts visited Banchory’s Bellfield Home recently.

In learning to care for others, the Beavers were required to take part in an activity to help the elderly. To complete this task, the boys first planted some bulbs in personally decorated plant tubs and these were presented to the residents at Bellfield to brighten up their surroundings. After donating the plants, the boys sang their Scouting version of ‘10 in the bed’.

The boys then spent time finding out some interesting facts about the people living in Bellfield. They were surprised to discover not all the residents were local, with Canada, India, Eyemouth and Orkney all being given as other places of birth!
