BIG Variety Show is a big success

Banchory’s BIG Variety Show has raised an impressive £1700 for two local charities.

The event which took place on Saturday 23 March was hosted by local youth group Youth Industries where they welcomed the community to view the talent they had in store along with dinner at Banchory Town Hall.

A packed hall of guests raised the cash, which will be shared between Youth Industried (a Banchory and District Initiative project) and dementia support charity the Forget Me Not Club.

Dozens of Deeside youngsters descended on the town hall to showcase their performance skills in areas such as dance, musical theatre, film production, drama, instrumentals and more.

Organisers said the evening was full of emotional, laugh out loud and awe-inspiring performances, which were expertly tied together by charismatic host and drama student Josh Dunn.

Heather Morrison, from the Forget Me Not Club, praised the young people involved: “It has been a joy to see young people work so hard for their charity and also for forget me not – the cash raised is a real reflection of commitment of so many people. The talent was outstanding – we are all looking forward to the next Variety Show!”
