Anyone hoping to beat the rush hour traffic to Aberdeen have been left confused recently as a bus service advertised in some timetables doesn’t actually exist.
Paper copies of timetables available on all Stagecoach busses on the Royal Deeside service advertised a 203 bus departing Banchory High Street for Aberdeen at 16.35. There is in fact no bus until 17.15.
The 16.35 is also advertised through a link on the Aberdeenshire Council website.
Wednesday (April 17) saw scenes of confusion at the stop on the town’s High Street as four people, including a Mother and infant waited from around 16.30 until the bus arrived at around 17.18.
One man tired of waiting and flagged down a taxi that then headed towards Aberdeen.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said: “Unfortunately there is an error in our Royal Deeside timetable dated 15th April, the 203 journey departing Banchory for Aberdeen 1635 on Mondays to Fridays should not appear and will not operate. We would like thank the Deeside Piper for bringing this to our attention and apologise for any inconvenience caused. A revised version of the timetable has been posted on our website and the corrected timetable will be available on bus shortly.”
