Ballater will host its first farmers’ market of the year on Saturday, April 23, at Glenmuick Church Green from 10am until 2pm.

It will also be the first market since the devastating flooding in the town.

Organiser Amy Muir said she had offered businesses affected by the floods a free stall at the event to talk to people and discuss the re-opening of their establishments and to show that Ballater is back in business.

The Rotary Club of Aboyne and Upper Deeside will be there and will use the opportunity to promote the other of their Ballater Flood Relief-related fundraising events, as well as their organisation.

There will also be a stall representing Ballater Business Association.

The market depends on stall fees and donations and Amy says contributions collected at her stall will be on behalf of the flood relief fund.
