Local charity South West Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice Bureau has successfully established new outreach services this summer.
These new sites at Braemar, Ballater, Tarland and Strathdon are in addition to the well-established venues in Aboyne, Alford and Banchory. The CAB gives confidential, impartial and independent advice.
Eveline Crossan, bureau manager, said: “Most of the appointment-only sessions have been fully booked, with many clients making forward bookings.
‘‘Those who live between outreach locations have been offered a choice of venue. Bureau staff and volunteers have been delighted with the response, which confirms our belief that this is a much-needed service for the area.
“As a direct result of this success, we are seeking local volunteers to support our trained advisers who are delivering advice to members of the public, for about 4 hours per week. Such support will ensure that we can continue to deliver advice sessions effectively. Training will be given to successful applicants and we pay out-of-pocket travel expenses”.
Anyone interested in helping the CAB at any of these locations or its Westhill base, should call 01224 747714.
