Cairngorms is nominated

The Cairngorms National Park has been nominated as the ‘Favourite British Holiday Location’ in the BBC Countryfile magazine awards and residents and visitors are being encouraged to vote to ensure the area takes the worthy accolade.

The awards, now in their second year, are compiled by industry experts and voted for by the public. The ‘Favourite British Holiday Location’ shortlist was compiled by the Lonely Planet Guide.

Alan Rankin, chief executive of Visit Cairngorms said: “We are situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK and have hundreds of activities and attractions for people to experience, not to mention unique flora and fauna; there are so many reasons for us to be number one!”

People can vote until tomorrow (June 1), by e-mailing: awards@countryfile.com or visiting: www.countryfile.com/awardsvote
