Visitors to the Cairngorms National Park are switching on their phones and tablets keen to grab information about the UK largest National Park.
www.visitcairngorms.com, the area portal site run by the local Chamber of Commerce, has seen record number of enquiries coming for mobile devices over the December and Januray holiday period.
Alan Rankin, Chief Executive of the Cairngorms Business Partnership and Chamber of Commerce said: “It’s one way traffic as far as visitors are concerned when it comes to the move towards the use of mobile devices. More than a third of all customer traffic to the website in December was from mobile devices.”
Visitors can access over 1,200 business listings from across the Park on their Smartphone, tablets and hand held devices. The visitcairngorms mobile App recently crossed the 10,000 download barrier and in December alone over 11,000 visits to the website came from hand held devices.
Mr Rankin added: “It is vital it’s not just destinations like the Cairngorms that are moving with customer trends but businesses also move with the times.”
