A Canine Carnival - run on behalf of the Scottish SPCA by the Deeside Supporter Group - was held in Banchory on Sunday.

The “Top Dog” was a German Shepherd called Cracker, owned by Lucy Weston of Temple of Fiddes.

The judge Jack Mackenzie was from Slains near Ellon.

Natalie Thom was the runner up with a 15-year-old Golden Retriever called Monet from Milltimber; third place was Carol Adams from Crathes with Hamish and fourth was James Crystall from Montrose with Boyd.

There were also competitions to find the “Best Behaved” dog; the Fastest Retrieve, and races for the dogs over obstacles.

Over 100 dogs took part, and around £1,000 was raised for the Scottish SPCA.

Sue Hawkins of the Supporter Group said they were grateful for everyone’s support.
