The number 93 bus service, which links Peterculter, Garthdee and the city centre, is to be withdrawn.
The service, operated by Stagecoach Bluebird on behalf of the city council, will cease operating on Friday, March 9.
It was introduced to replace the 24 bus service which was discontinued by First in July, 2009.
Developer funding secured as part of the planning consent for the expansion of the Asda and Sainsbury’s supermarkets in Garthdee was used to pay for the 93 service, but that is about to run out.
Aberdeen City Council has attempted to find alternative funding for the service and has approached businesses in the area for support, without success. The council has been left with no option but to withdraw the service.
