The Banchory older people’s forum is a group who meet regularly to discuss issues affecting older people and try and do something about them.

Led by a dedicated group from Hanover Court sheltered housing, the forum is organising a community event for older people on Friday, October 7, in Banchory West Church.

From 10am to noon there will be an opportunity to find out about services and activities as well as about changes happening in health and social care provision.

There will be stalls, workshops, presentations and a chance to relax and try tai chi. The event is free and there will be tea and coffee available.

From 1-2.30pm there will be a meeting of Aberdeenshire older people’s forum followed by a chance to meet and ask questions of Iain Ramsay, the new manager for Aberdeenshire South of the recently-formed Health and SocialCare Partnership.

The Banchory forum is supported by Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action and is part of a wider network of older people’s forums across the area called the Your Voice project.
