Police have named the two men killed in a road crash in Aberdeenshire.

Paul Grice, 24, and Grahame Ellis, 32, both from Aboyne, died when their car hit a tree on the A93 near Aboyne Loch Caravan Park on Thursday night.

Mr Grice was driving the red Volkswagen Golf and Mr Ellis was the front seat passenger.

Road Policing Inspector Jon Barron said: “Both families have been left devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of their loved ones.

“We have already spoken to a number of witnesses, however I would urge anyone who may have seen the vehicle involved or who may have information that would assist our enquiries into the horrific circumstances to come forward.”
