PARENTS past and present, friends and neighbours gathered at Crathes Primary School last Thursday for a “cuppa and a piece” to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
A total of £357 was raised at the hour-long coffee morning from donations and a tombola organised by the P4-7 pupils. The Macmillan fundraiser has become an annual event at the school, with the children playing a major role in its organisation. The youngsters set tables in the spare classroom and decorated the playground with a banner and balloons. They waited on tables and served up plates of delicious fancies baked by parents.
Headteacher Maureen Fraser said: “It’s a wonderful chance for the school community to meet informally and contribute to a very worthy cause. The pupils have done a great job!”
