Thieves are being hunted after a raid on a carriage at the Royal Deeside Railway at Milton of Crathes.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident which happened between 5.30pm on Sunday, August 7, and 2.30pm the following day.

Items of food and a charity tin containing a small amount of cash were stolen.

PC Russell Masson, the inquiry officer, said: “This is an unusual crime for this area and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity around the times this happened to come forward.
