Local re-homing charity DAWGS is appealing for help in finding a new home for one of its animals.

Rocky, a friendly boxer-cross-collie, has not so far been placed with a new owner.

The North-east based charity finds new homes throughout the area for dogs, whose owners, perhaps due to illness, frailty or a change in family circumstances can no longer take care of them.

Rocky has been on the charity’s books for more than two months but so far they haven’t been able to find the right match.

DAWGS chairman Ian Paterson said: “Rocky has a friendly, affectionate nature, is fit and active for his age, and loves walks, or playing ball in his garden. He is good off the lead and friendly towards other dogs.”

Ian added: “Rocky loves company so we are looking for a home where someone will be around all day and that he would be the only pet.

“We know he will make the perfect companion for someone - we just have to find them.”
