Two Deeside brothers took the overall championship at the Aberdeen and Northern Marts show and sale of weaned and suckled calves at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie last week.

Gavin and Euan Greenlaw, Groddie Farm, Dinnet, took the bullock and the overall title with their homebred Belgian Blue cross steer.

Gavin was presented with the C.A. Coutts Perpetual Trophy for the champion bullock and £100 prize money for the overall title by Ian Glennie of show sponsors Gray Feed Services.

Their 514kg champion animal was later sold for £1,270 to show judge James Matthew, Whitelums, Gartly, Huntly.

The judge also bought the heifer champion, a 400kg Charolais cross, from Michael Durno of D&R Durno & Sons, Auchorachan, Glenlivet, for £1,050.
