Deeside’s Ardoe House will be serving up a feast of Christmas cheer as it pledges to support three local charities over the holiday season.

Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel and Spa’s executive head chef, Richard Yearnshire, has cooked and served up 100 mince pies for local children’s charity, Befriend A Child, and will be providing 50 meals for The Cyrenians and Salvation Army in Aberdeen on Christmas day.

Staff at Ardoe have been supporting The Cyrenians and Salvation Army in Aberdeen for over 10 years, and all of the meals prepared will be personally hand delivered by Mr Yearnshire and his team on Christmas day, before a busy day of festivities commences at the hotel.

Hotel staff gifted a number of mice pies and mulled wine to Befriend a Child’s Christmas Fayre at the start of December.

They will also be preparing gourmet dishes including a turkey lunch complete with all the trimmings, and Christmas pudding for The Cyrenians and Salvation Army Christmas Day lunches. Peter Sangster, general manager of Ardoe, said: “Christmas is a busy time for us at the hotel and it is inspiring to see Richard and his team go above and beyond to take the time to cook first class meals for those attending The Cyrenians and Salvation Army Christmas Day lunches.

“I am delighted the hotel can be involved in lending a helping hand to these three charities and I am extremely proud of the staff’s efforts in helping others at this special time of year.”

Ardoe also sponsors Befriend a Child’s annual ball, which takes place in February.
