Deeside Musical Society are heading for the duckpond at the end of May when members present their production of the award-winning musical Honk!

This was written by George Styles and Anthony Drewe, creators of the new West End musical ‘Betty Blue Eyes’.

Honk! which is a modern retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Ugly Duckling’ is a fantastic comedy full of wit and great music, transporting the audience to the world of the duckyard, whilst keeping their feet firmly in the human world. Children will enjoy this hilarious show with beautifully designed and imanginative scenery. The local cast have been rehearsing since January and are working hard alongside director Tommy Baxter and musical director Frank Odds. Tickets are now on sale at the Aboyne Community Centre, (013398) 86222, and the Victoria Restaurant in Dinnet. It runs from May 25 to 28. Evening performances start at 7.30pm and there is a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm, with a special ticket price of £6 for children at this performance.
