The Victorian Courtyard at the National Trust for Scotland’s Drum Castle, Drumoak is to be transformed into a giant advent calendar as part of the castle’s Holly Fest Celebrations.
School pupils of all ages have been using all their creative skills and talents to produce the advent calendar.
To celebrate ‘2013: Year of Natural Scotland’ the schools were given the theme of Wild Winter Wonderland.
Advent Calendar co-ordinator Laura Paterson, was amazed at the inspiration behind the windows: “This year the schools from the city and shire have used all their creative genius to reinforce the message that we must look after our natural world. Endangered species such as polar bears appear alongside our native endangered red squirrels. However, our much-loved Christmas characters are also on display with beautiful drawings of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Robin Redbreast amongst others.”
The Advent Calendar is available for public viewing from December 1 until 6 January. Drum Castle will be hosting their HollyFest event on 1,2, 8 and 9 December from 11am until
