Following the success of their Guerilla Sessions gig at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Ross Couper and Tom Oakes come to exhilarate and entertain audiences at Woodend Barn in Banchory on Friday 9th September.
Ross’ explosive fiddle playing lies at the heart of the mighty Peatbog Faeries and Bodega, whilst award-winning guitarist and flautist Tom is not only the founder member of world/jazz combo, the Auvo Quartet, he also has the dubious honour of being a finalist in the BBC’s 2004 Fame Academy.
Together they bring a highly dynamic mixture of power and fragility, warmth and humour to the stage as a fiddle and guitar duo deeply rooted in the traditions of Scotland and Ireland but with a vital modernity that chronicles their many musical journeys so far.
Ross and Tom will also be taking part in the launch of the Go Local campaign - a packed weekend in Banchory of live music, workshops, storytelling, dance demonstrations, theatre, wine tasting and much more.
They will be playing a short set at Deeside Drinks Emporium on Friday 9 September at 4pm. More information can be found at www.golocal.me
