Durris Young Farmers were pleased to be able to donate £250 each to Grant’s Journey and the Friends of Glen of Dee Hospital thanks to funds raised at a Rock and Roll Bingo fundraiser in November.

Grant’s Journey was set up in the name of Banchory man Grant Morrison, a former member of the club who was seriously injured when a tractor tyre he was inflating exploded last year.

Grant’s injuries have left him in a wheelchair. All money donated to the fund will be used to help make his life easier.

The family are currently adapting their home and looking into ways they can adapt his chair so that he can lead as normal a life as possible.

The Friends of Glen O’ Dee is a charity which runs alongside the local hospital.

They focus on making life in hospital more comfortable for patients and their families.

Recently they used funds to put new TVs in all the rooms and are continually working to make improvements to the hospital
