Deeside bright sparks are delighted with good grades

Milltimber, Bieldside and Banchory Robert Gordon’s College pupils have achieved another set of outstanding exam results this year.

An impressive 51 S5 pupils achieved five or more straight A passes at higher, across 34 different subjects, and a further 21 achieved four As and a B.

In addition, 67 pupils in S4 achieved eight straight A passes in Intermediate 2 and National 5 examinations, with 72% A passes overall. This was the first sitting of the new National Five examinations and candidates did extremely well with 89% of all grades being either at A or B.

Among these successful candidates were a number from the Milltimber, Bieldside and Banchory area who performed very well indeed.

In this the first year of National Five examinations, five local S4 pupils gained straight A grades in their eight examinations including Emma Beveridge, Matthew Briggs, Iiona Cabral, Harry Craik and Jamie Wiliams.

Jamie said: “I am very happy with my results as they have given me an excellent foundation for highers and beyond.”

At higher in S5, four local pupils gained their straight crop of A grades in their five higher exams: Ross Cooper, Elise Canfield, Amy Fraser and Claudia Cross.

Claudia said on behalf of these pupils: “This has allowed me to open up my options for university”.

A spokesperson said: ‘‘Robert Gordon’s College is developing its new Science and TechnologyCentre, which will be the UK’s largest school teaching facility of its kind.’’
