Echt School gets the Green Flag

Echt School has been awarded its first Green Flag from Eco Schools Scotland for their continued work on sustainability.

On a recent visit, the children impressed two assessors with the work they have been doing in school with regard to managing food waste, litter and recycling.

The Eco Group is made up of 12 children from Primary 1-7, along with Mrs Ruth MacDonald, headteacher.

The pupils are working on a number of Eco Schools topics this year

These include litter, biodiversity and

energy.

The coveted green flag is now is now flying from a flag pole in the school garden which was donated by local company Kirkwood Homes.
