New sign language classes in Ballater have got off to a cracking start, proving hugely popular in the Deeside community.
People from a range of different age groups and backgrounds have taken up the chance to learn the basic communication skill in a fun setting.
Tutor Claire Cameron, of Claire’s Sign Hear, said she has been delighted with the response so far and with the progress of the first two classes, which were held in Glenmuick Church Hall on Monday evenings. The classes are currently taking a break for the ‘Tattie Holidays.’
Claire is running the classes in blocks of eight, with the next one set for Monday, October 27, to coincide with the schools going back.
She said: “A couple of people were not able to make the first classes so we are still accepting new starts on that night only. If anyone is interested in a catch-up they should come along on Monday at 7.30 pm or contact me beforehand on 013397 53281, or email email@example.com.”
Classes cost £12 and are held in a relaxed setting, with tea and coffee included.
